Hello, my name is Casey Yoshida. I’m a designer, photographer, and creative director with nearly 20 years of experience helping people and brands articulate who they are through thoughtful visual branding and storytelling.

Brand design sits at the core of my practice. I focus on building clear, confident visual identities that rely on intentional, striking visuals. Photography is a natural extension of that work. I approach image-making the same way I approach design, using composition, color, tone, and form as tools to express identity. Drawn to people by nature, I often work in portraiture, capturing individuals and brands in a way that feels authentic, human, and aligned with who they truly are.

My background in graphic design shapes how I work across disciplines. I think in systems, not single deliverables, treating identity, photography, and art direction as interconnected parts of one story. Over the course of my career, I’ve helped shape the visual voice for brands, artists, entrepreneurs, institutions, and startups

Since 2020, I have served as photographer and co-creative director for The Scout Guide Chattanooga, leading visual direction and photography across Volumes 8 through 13. Community and philanthropy are also central to my work. I have chaired one of the Hunter Museum of American Art’s most successful fundraising exhibitions and co-chaired a 2025 fundraiser for The Launch Pad that marked its strongest year of support.

My studio practice is currently featured alongside 72 other local businesses in The Scout Guide Chattanooga Vol. 13

Design

Visual identity built to last.

Design sits at the foundation of my creative practice. I focus on building visual identities that are clear, confident, and distinctive, grounded in strategy and brought to life through intentional, striking visuals.

My design work goes beyond individual assets. I think in systems, creating identities that function cohesively across applications and evolve with the brand over time. From logos and typography to color and layout, every element is considered for how it contributes to the larger story a brand is telling.

The result is work that feels thoughtful and enduring rather than reactive or trend-driven, helping brands show up in the world with clarity and purpose.

Photo

Story-driven imagery with intention.

Photography is a core part of how I help brands and people tell their story. My work is rooted in portraiture and identity, with an editorial sensibility that prioritizes authenticity, clarity, and emotion over trend.

I approach photography through the lens of a designer, paying close attention to composition, color, tone, and form. Art direction is integral to the process, with thoughtful consideration given to location, wardrobe, props, and post-production. Each image is built deliberately to reflect the individuality of its subject and the larger narrative it belongs to.

Whether creating portraits, brand imagery, or editorial work, the goal is always the same: images that feel honest, human, and aligned with who you are.
